The oldest house in the village – it dates from 1594 – retains a traditional warm Provençal façade simply the interiors have been stylishly modernised.

The neighbourhood

The hotel is in the centre of the tiny hamlet of Le Brûlat. Bulldoze five minutes for wine tasting at Domaine de fifty'Olivette or Domaine Tour de Bon, or 10 minutes for Michelin-starred dining in hilltop villages – Hostellerie Bérard in La Cadière-d'Azur or Hotel & Spa du Castellet in Le Castellet. It'south 15 minutes' drive to the beach at Bandol, which has a weekly market on Tuesday, and Saint Cyr sur Mer, which has a market on Sun. It's too but 15 minutes to Circuit Paul Ricard Chiliad Prix racetrack (although you won't hear any racket). Aix-en-Provence is an hour away, Marseille is 45 minutes, Cassis is 40 minutes.
