What Do You Think This Is Sword Art Online

Sword Art Online (TV Series 2012– ) Poster

9 /10

Pretty Decent!

In the twelvemonth 2022, thousands of people get trapped in a new virtual MMORPG (Mass Multiplayer Online Function Playing Game) known as Sword Art Online. Where decease normally causes you lot to respawn to a safe zone, Sword Art Online was reprogrammed to kill anyone who dies in the virtual world. The only manner to exit the game, is to defeat the final boss. Eager to escape this virtual nightmare, a lone beta player called Kirito fights his way through each floor of the game; all the same, this lone wolf soon recognizes the need for companionship, and the cost for his liberty. In the end, SAO Season 1 was packed full of mythical virtual excitement, beautiful animation, wonderful orchestral pieces, and intriguing character development. Fifty-fifty if you never watch SAO Flavor two, SAO Flavour one is a must see for any Anime enthusiast and deserves a solid ten.

Sword Art Online Flavor 2, brings the states dorsum to the mmo virtual world. Even so, unlike SAO Season 1, the get-go one-half of SA0 season 2 is primarily based on a gunslinger motif known as Gun Gale Online,

In a virtual world comprised of guns and bullets, Kirito, uses a female avatar whilst duel wielding a violet energy sword and a v.7mm FN Five Vii handgun. Not long after his experiences in Alfheim Online, Kirito is asked to assist in finding a mysterious histrion chosen Expiry Gun who is targeting the all-time players in the game, and is some how killing them in the real world.

Though nosotros reunite with some familiar characters in the past, GGO introduces a sexy sniper named Sinon who uses a PGM Ultima Ratio Hecate II which is a .50 caliber anti-fabric sniper rifle. As awesome equally this season has been, information technology does lack a few of the intense emotional elements that made the beginning flavor then astonishing. (Ex: The romance that developed betwixt Kirito and Asuna, or the intense rage Kirito expressed to certain members of Laughing Coffin)

Upon the conclusion of SOA season two mid-season finale, we are brought dorsum to Alfheim Online where nosotros are reunited with everyone in Kirito's political party from SOA season ane. After a brief 4 episodes, the remainder of the SAO season 2 focuses on an entirely new guild known equally the "the sleeping knights" social club. In a desperate attempt to achieve the unachievable "the sleeping knights" request Asuna's help after assessing her combat skills in a duel against their strongest member Yuuki.

Growing up on anime, I have seen my fair share of classics, just the cute atmosphere, the scenic music, and the fantastic character development has quickly made SAO my favourite anime serial. That beingness said, those who were a fan of SAO flavor ane will notice an virtually different atmosphere in SAO season two. Personally I experience that SAO season 1 was amend because the second half completely fed off the first half of the flavour. Still, SAO flavor 2 had what appeared to be 4-v parts. Although this introduces us to new characters, the plot felt a fiddling scattered as it lacked the kind of consistency and the emotional build that was provided by SAO season ane. Overall, the second season of SAO was not fantastic, but I still believe it deserves a vii.

Great kickoff half, unfortunate second half.

Warning: Spoilers

Beginning Half: NO SPOILERS.

Sword Art online is a terrifying but cute story of a boy names Kirito who is stuck in this virtual video game in which no player can get out until the concluding boss is defeated. Throughout the game, if 1 were to exist killed, the player would too die in the real globe.

In this anime, you lot never know who is going to die next which keeps the viewers constantly on edge. A character that might take seemed important could be killed at whatever moment and the fact that those characters actually dice in the real world makes the story even more emotional. The story itself is definitely unique and entertaining. The activity/fighting is good and the emotions run high in this anime, however, information technology does accept a few flaws.

Kickoff off, everything feels rushed in the start half of this anime. In a earth that has 100 floors, you only encounter well-nigh 10 of them. To me, I found it annoying to discover out that the adjacent episode he had made it 20 floors college without any explanation. I empathise that you can't show him fighting on each floor level, but it could have been more gradual than going from (ex.) floor 20 to flooring 47. The first story is completed within fourteen episodes and that is it's problem. They exercise not requite enough time for the stories to develop fully. Y'all encounter new characters in the beginning of an episode and towards the end of that episode many days have gone by within the anime but truly y'all've only seen them throughout ane episode of 20 minutes, non two-3 episodes. So when those (not-so) new characters die at the end of the episode where they were beginning introduced, it doesn't pack the dial it could take had those characters been in the anime longer.

Secondly, SAO lacks Grapheme depth. Later watching 14 episodes of Sword Art Online, you know barely anything about the main characters. They yet manage to make you like and care for them, but I think that these feelings could have been amplified had we known more about them.

----------- Now for the second half: SPOILERS

The story continues into a new video game in which Kirito enters in order to save his lover Asuna. In this new game if y'all get killed, you merely respawn. After watching the first half of SAO, this second half right abroad seems pathetic and artless. This story focuses on love instead of survival and in my opinion it should have never accept been made. They really should have just spent the extra episodes on the offset story. This would accept fixed the ii flaws I pointed out: They could have added more character depth and not made the anime feel as rushed. It's really a shame, considering this second half ruins SAO for me.

-------- END SPOILER

All in all, I would highly recommend watching the first fourteen episodes of SAO but don't even bother watching anything past that.

Overhyped but skillful

In the overall anime I call up it'due south overhyped. Merely still I enjoyed it though.2&3 season was kinda gloomy to me but season 4 was a fauna. Most of all what I like the most in this anime is kirito and asuna's dearest story. Everything is good but my main motivation is kirito x asuna. You should probably give it a watch.

Non a masterpiece but worth to lookout

I would non call this anime a masterpiece only it really is something. Surely there are amend anime's out there. But if y'all like game and vr stuff then information technology'south totally worth your time. I watched all 4 season. I didn't like flavour 2&3 that much. Merely flavor 4 was a fauna. As the release appointment is out I am waiting for season 5. Although I think it'due south overhyped but you tin can enjoy.

Anime made for RPG gamers.

Well I have to say, this has got to be the hardest anime to review and rate that I have come beyond so far. Information technology is one hell of a mixture. But I did had a keen time watching it, was very entertaining and that is what really matters.

On the plus side, I loved the setting/premise, a globe where virtual reality has been perfected and MMORPG'due south truly come to life. The RPG gamer in me was really happy while watching this anime. DAMN I wanted to exist in SAO then bad. The animation was great, specially that of the action sequences. I loved em. Coupled with amazing soundtrack, they really became epic. Protagonist was very likable and cool. The heroin was hot. :p

Now on the bad side, the anime felt really rushed in the beginning. It actually felt similar I skipped an episode couple of times. Would have been meliorate if they stretched out the get-go arc into 24 episodes or and so, would have been much better. It got a little as well much lovey dovey too afterward on, which was off putting. The side characters were proficient Just they got very less screen time, way too less. It was like the anime forgot about them. So in that location was the second arc. It didn't suck as bad as many said information technology would but still it was nowhere near as expert as the kickoff arc. IT simply didn't had the same feeling equally the first arc. The setting in it was absurd, had a lot of Final fantasy vibe to information technology. But the love stuff was lame and pointless.

Every bit for the rating, well I would give it like:

Commencement arc (i-fourteen episodes) 8.8/10.

Second arc six.5/10.

Overall, despite its flaws, I somehow still found it to exist very enjoyable and was engaged in it a lot. 8.three/10.

Perhaps the most overrated anime of all time.

Alert: Spoilers

Small-scale Spoilers below. Annotation: this review is simply based on the original SAO, non the second flavour released in 2014.

The common line which carried SAO to information technology's popularity was that it was 'a sprawling epic with an inventive concept'

This is merely not the case... while the concept has some fun new twists it'southward hardly original, the 'if yous die in the game you die in existent life' is almost becoming a cliché, fifty-fifty more so since SAO increased it'south popularity.

And while the animation and music are definitely up to snuff in regards to providing an epic and grandiose spectacle, the story and characters are certainly not.

the pb protagonist Kirito is perchance the worst protagonist i've ever seen in any televised series, ludicrously overpowered to the point where he'south seemingly able to break established world rules at his leisure with no prior explanation every bit to how. he too has quite bafflingly... no clear motivation for the entire first one-half of the series. at that place is simply zip to him personality-wise either, he's self, just other than that there'southward not much at that place, he was fabricated as plain and uncomplicated as possible to serve the purpose of wish-fulfilment. he's not a character, he's a peel for the viewer to vesture.

equally for the story, for the offset half it's at the very least competent if bromidic information technology'south heavily permit-down by a few filler episodes and abuse of timeskips just it'due south at to the lowest degree bearable. only for the latter half? every mistake that could have been made WAS made, all tension was thrown out of the window as the consequences for in-game decease were removed as was the sense of being trapped in the globe. and the mysterious villain of the first half was thrown aside in favour of a new, completely apartment, completely unintimidating moron.

In summary, the serial is the closest approximation of a railroad train-wreck that i tin can imagine, flat characters, schizophrenic pacing, a overabundance of rather creepy fanservice... the fantastic blitheness and music are nowhere Almost enough to redeem it.

3/x is being rather generous...

Over hyped and kind of stupid, but enjoyable nonetheless

Warning: Spoilers

I have mixed feelings about this show. It has many adept things, but it likewise has its fair share of bad things. The outset half of the show, I like. It's just pure entertainment, with absolutely nil else, but it'southward watchable and addictive. The animation is corking, I love seeing the world of Sword Art Online, the threat of expiry creates a piffling tension, and watching our two main characters Kirito and Asuna fall in honey is sugariness and mannerly. The second one-half I hate. I don't like the new globe Alfheim Online. It never captured my interest the way Sword Art Online did and the threat of death is gone. The whole arc with Kiritos' sister is unbearably annoying and I actually wish they had just cut that out. Lastly, Asuna, the all powerful Asuna, is reduced to the clichéd damsel in distress, which is stupid, dumb, and makes no sense. All that being said, I withal savor the show and recommend y'all watch information technology. There are stupid things and it may not require much brain power, only you can have fun with it.

Then much wasted potential

Alarm: Spoilers

Sword Fine art Online was an anime I went in being very excited for. Being a long time MMO player and anime watcher, an anime virtually an MMO seemed like information technology would be correct up my ally. How wrong I was.

The show revolves around the chief graphic symbol Kirito and his in-game (and later IRL) girlfriend Asuna and their story after they go trapped within an MMO that causes its players to dice for real if they die within the game. It seemed like an interesting concept that was executed in all the wrong means.

I was looking forrard to an anime about the struggles of being trapped within an MMO earth and the quest to level up and beat the final boss to "escape" the MMO. Even so, instead of focusing on that quest, the series focuses heavily on the romance aspect of the series. Much of the leveling and dungeoning procedure is simply skipped over in favor of giving the main male lead Kirito more than fourth dimension with one of his many lady friends (namely Asuna). At one indicate during the show, the series goes mode off rails when Kirito and Asuna make up one's mind to get married in game and go have a honeymoon for ii whole episodes (Two whole episodes of this!). I would have rather seen a series where the leveling and dungeoning process was the principal point, and the romance was simply secondary. Instead, the romance takes up much the the series, and the actual MMO parts are pushed to the side or just skimmed over. This seems rather contradictory, every bit one would call up the characters would exist more than focused on leveling and beating the game instead of romancing each other, considering they are trapped there and could potentially dice.

However, the most glaring problem with this anime is the inconsistency with the two main characters. Asuna, the main female lead and Kirito'due south love interest, changes multiple times for apparently no reason throughout the get-go flavour. She is starting time portrayed equally a strong player that is also a loner, and refusing any offers to partner up with others. Later, after a timeskip, she is shown again, but this time instead as a Tsundre, bossy person that is now in a guild for some reason (despite claiming to exist a loner). Some time after that, she turns into a adoring, pushover, waifu type of character and remains that style for the balance of the serial. All of these personality changes occur without any explanation or plot element that would explain a shift in personality.

However, with as bad as Asuna is, the primary character Kirito is 100x worse. He is by far the worst gary stu I've ever seen in an anime. The series essentially revolves around proving how awesome and special Kirito is. Kirito, similar Asuna, is originally described as a loner that prefers to play lonely, too known as a "beater" in the game. The series gets this incorrect right off the bat every bit they tell us he has this personality instead of showing the states. This supposed loner personality is constantly contradicted, equally only a couple episodes into the show, Kirito joins a gild and is constantly meeting, playing with, and helping other players. A pretty odd thing for a loner to do correct? Oddly enough, all of these players he helps are attractive females in revealing armor that all fall in honey with him for no real reason. After a few episodes of this, I realized that this was in fact a harem anime, not the action/adventure I originally thought it was.

Instead of showing leveling and dungeoning progression, each episode of this anime either has Kirito wooing some new girl to add to his harem or romancing Asuna. Amongst the girls that are in his harem, in that location is also his sister/cousin that has also fallen in love with him for some reason. Of grade, Kirito ultimately chooses Asuna, since she is the prettiest and most powerful girl in the game. Don't expect to see many male characters that aren't evil or incredibly peripheral in this series, there's only room for Kirito and his various harem girls.

Kirito always wins his battles through some kind of plot armor, exaggerated to the point where it even breaks the rules of the game at a couple points. He has a special dual wielding ability that no ane else has for no other reason aside from the fact that he's special, and likewise frequently uses other abilities that shouldn't even be possible. At no point is there ever a fear of him dying or even losing, every bit y'all know there will e'er be some random power up he gets that allows him to win.

And unfortunately, this series and its plot only get worse as the series progresses. As bad as the first half of the beginning season was, it only gets worse. Subsequently escaping Sword Art Online, later arcs portray Kirito and his harem girls in their adventures in other mmos. For one, yous'd think the characters would exist hesitant to play other mmos after their feel in SAO (non much is really said well-nigh the people who actually died from the game). Only nope, they bound into other mmos without even thinking about information technology. And these other mmo arcs lose what little plot suspense the start arc had, every bit they take abroad the risk of dying that the first mmo arc had.

Ultimately, Sword Art Online is but a harem, fanservice anime with little plot/character development or consistency. Everything about it is gimmicky and poorly executed to the indicate where information technology has no saving graces (that is, unless y'all're into the fanservice). There are plenty of skillful shounen animes out there and this simply isn't i of them. Information technology's highly overrated and doesn't deserve the hype information technology gets.

Information technology's a must-watch

Maybe I'g a sap but I love this show. I loved it when I watched information technology ten years ago and I'm loving it again watching information technology with my daughter this year. Information technology reminds me of all the good times that I had playing WoW and raiding with my guild. It's smart, funny, exciting, and thoughtful, as long as yous ignore the weird cousin-love thing that crops up for a few episodes

(Annotation that I've simply watched the first two seasons...)

Information technology's the wet dream of the creator. Ultra-powerful hero conquers monsters whilst accumulating a horde of scantily-clad females who are helplessly in dearest with him.

Warning: Spoilers

OK so first things I enjoyed.

The offset three episodes. Some of the time the animation is glorious. Especially in the first episode. When they're showing you lot the world of SAO it is fantastic, and some of the fight scenes are peachy. The beginning 3 episodes really shows this off.

Episodes that I liked: 1, two, three, 5, 8, 9... that'due south it really.

The master character - whilst probably simply the avatar for the creator's moisture dream - is really kind of cool sometimes. I enjoyed his moments of badassery. Asuna (supporting pb) was pretty damn cool when you first see her. She plays the tsudere role pretty well at get-go, but towards episode x or so she increasingly becomes zilch more than the helpless waifu to worry when Kirito is in danger.

And at present I start with the problems in this show.

This is the bones format for the start half: i) Introduce cute female graphic symbol. 2) Let us see lots of her breasts and other torso parts 3) Ideally invent some state of affairs that involves her accidentally showing a scrap too much body, then getting really embarrassed or angry. 4) Invent random monster for Kirito to fight, female character must be in need of protection. 5) Have some speech about love or promise or something 6) Rinse and repeat.

There'southward a little scrap of a sidetrack with some hentai porn, but that'due south almost of the beginning half. Then we have a similar state of affairs in the 2d one-half, only just with the aforementioned female character (Sugu) on repeat whilst the supposed 'dearest' of Kirito is all trapped in a cage being molested so all the creepy people watching can masturbate.

To illustrate Characters who appear in more than one episode:

Kirito, male - basically Goku

Sugu, female person in love with Kirito

Asuna in love with Kirito

Lisbeth, f in love with K

Silica, f in dear with K

Alicia, f who hits on Thou

Sakuya, f who hits on K (lots of fan service)

Klein, m

Agil, m

Kuradeel, thou

Basicaly about of the characters who actually do things are females and what they do is have their bodies exhibited for the viewer while they're saved by the all powerful Kirito who they then fall in love with.

I could continue about the grand lists of plot holes, things that don't brand sense, corporeality of boring dialog/things that happen and the fact I never one time feared for whatever of the main characters. Just that'll just be waffle. You either enjoy the misogynistic misadventures of kirito with a side of side boob, or you don't.

Great anime series

So far I've seen the offset dozen of episodes. Information technology goes without saying that this anime is very cute and with strong memorable characters. I was hesitant at first to watch this considering of the video game theme. Merely it'due south a very mature show for what is opposite to what information technology appears to be in first glance.

Teenage male child Kirito gets stuck in a futuristic MMO game and together with other players in his situation they have to beat the game to be fix gratis or die in the existent globe.

Information technology's not the typical action packed anime, although it could plow into another Naruto/Bleach/OnePiece of ridiculously overpowered activity heroes, I retrieve a improve description so far would exist a tragic romantic sci fi evidence. I tin't remember when I've seen so many characters die in an anime in such a short succession.

Anyhow don't miss this, I'm glad I didn't. There are very few animes these days that make me want to see frontwards for the next episode.

ONE of the All-time Anime in 2012

Rohb two September 2012

Sword Fine art Online (SAO) Even though the anime is not completed equally I write this, I can already see that this anime will exist one of the all-time of 2012.SAO is perfectly paced storyline with many plot twists and surprises it'south almost impossible to get bored.I have no other words to describe this is just simply amazing and you will easily fall in beloved with SAO.I can't believe it'southward but scoring 8.eight.It'due south easy 10/10 in my books...If you scout one anime in 2012 I recommend SAO especially if your an MMO player and even more so if y'all played MMO'southward back in the day earlier they made all of them casual. This anime tells a story from the viewpoint of those kind of games, where things are very challenging, living in another world is possible in games.

State of war of Underworld

Warning: Spoilers

Aye, they simply keep doing it! They figure out a new plot that is just as good or better than the original. This one has been awesome all the mode through. The just thing I tin can knock them on is they take dragged out the "Catatonic Kirito" thing too long. He just woke up and it took forever, merely in one case he did information technology's like all was right with the world! Which led me to this thought.....

I have watched so many Anime'southward. At that place are several that I tend to watch over and over. "The Irregular at Magic High School", "Is Information technology Wrong to Choice Up Girls in a Dungeon?", any of the "Fate/" series, "Wiseman's Grandchild", "Arifureta", "Knightly of a Failed Knight" and and then on and and so on......Only permit me ask you this, when y'all think of all the things Kirito has down and who he is equally a graphic symbol and all he has survived.......Has in that location ever been a better Hero graphic symbol? Call back about information technology. Nutrient for thought.

Very bad.

Warning: Spoilers

It is genuinely impressive on how many levels this show fails. It has become a reference betoken for bad writing. This is a story written by someone who has admitted to doing no research beforehand, and made by a visitor decumbent to reusing footage. It fails on and so many levels, that its popularity doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Yes, this show was released effectually the fourth dimension death games got popular, the blitheness looks slick to the very untrained middle, and a few worthless characters are killed early to give a sense of danger to the whole affair, simply I can't believe that information technology is still popular that it has already gotten spinoffs, movies, and other series. How are people however watching this mess?

Characters

None of the characters have whatever bodily personalities, especially not the females. Pretty much all of the women onscreen are only on the show to serve every bit a dearest involvement for Kirito or to draw the eye of anyone watching for the bonny anime girls. None of them take whatsoever personality other than some of them having hobbies, and having a hobby does not equate to having a personality. The side characters also don't serve whatsoever purposes, other than to propel the "plot." The main character, Kirito, is mainly simply a bare slate because the writer thought that existence the virtually overpowered grapheme ever written is a personality.

Plot

The story of the first arc had some potential, simply unfortunately is it very poorly executed. None of the characters act like gamers. All the characters are very weak. The villain has no motivation. The fights are terrible (but watch them without music, without the amazing soundtrack no-one would exist defending those fights). There are countless filler episodes and very little plot progression. The game doesn't make sense every bit a game. There are a lot more than problems, only the main thing is that the author tin only give exposition in a bar or a buffet. Seriously, if you have seen this, think back to whatever time y'all heard a clunky spoken language of poorly-disguised exposition. Chances are, it took place in some kind of a restaurant, which is a pretty lazy way of carrying information to the audience. Also the villain HAS NO MOTIVATION FOR KILLING THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE.

Now I'thou going to talk more about the Fairy Dance arc. Some of the things I mentioned previously regarding filler, exposition, and fight scenes are likewise here, but the plot has some extra problems. Like incest. In that location is an incest subplot just thrown in there and the poor writing just makes information technology gross and uncomfortable. If there was better writing, if Kirito'south cousin had a personality outside of wanting to bang him, and if she grew over the course of the arc as a person, then it could've worked I guess. Asuna, Kirito'southward "wife" from the beginning arc has been reduced from a poorly blithe badass to a caged damsel in distress. The villain of this arc has motivations, making the finale slightly less anticlimactic than the first, only they make no sense. If you lay out everything that he'south trying to do, and think virtually how regime cooperations work, and everything anywhere near his plan, it makes no sense as to why or how he would practice this. There's also an uncomfortable and unnecessary rape scene with tentacle monsters that doesn't make a lot of sense in context and doesn't need to be there. For some reason Kirito is at present friends with a mass-murderer and can walk immediately later existence bedridden for 2 years.

There'due south a lot I don't want to get into about how NOT A GODDAMN THING MAKES SENSE, only this review would only end up even longer and there are plenty of video essays on YouTube that get into more depth in much more entertaining manners.

Sights and Sounds

The graphic symbol designs and settings are ok, I guess. Near of it is pretty generic and banal. Like I said, there is a lot of reused footage and yet panning shots. I wouldn't be as annoyed every bit the panning shots as they're common in anime, just panning over a frozen image tin only be excused if its an establishing shot, not an excuse for a fight scene. For some reason people defend the fight scenes saying that they're the best thing virtually this show, but if yous watch them with out the spectacular soundtrack, they're pretty pathetic. I can't believe that such a talented composer is working on such trash. Or they might not be anymore, I don't know. The music is still good. The vocalism interim is not. I watched this with the English dub, which is terrible. I as well watched some of the original Japanese dub, and it really isn't any improve.

Instantly Hooked

With the help of a friend, too equally Sirlionhart's Let's Play of Hollow Fragment, Sword Art Online became the first Japanese Anime that I got into. Closest things to Anime prior that I watched were Avatar: The Final Airbender (Some don't really consider it anime as its American, but its based off it) and if you count movies, Spirited Away. But back on topic.

After my friend showed me game-play of Sword Fine art Online: Hollow Fragment, I decided to check out the series on Netflix and I was instantly hooked. Information technology was humorous at times, very deep and emotional, and really epic. The characters are likable, the story is amazing, the music, score and theme songs, awesome.

I sympathize that a lot of people don't like the show, and I see the reasons why. I was disappointed when the Showtime Story Arc came to what seemed like a sudden and rather quick finish (Which is the reasoning behind me not giving the show a perfect 10 score). I honestly wouldn't have had a problem with different Story Arcs if the start flavor had focused on only one (Much similar ABC's Once Upon a Time, because I think the Story Arcs were rather expert.

Just overall, I am really glad that I got into the show. Information technology may not be perfect, only I liked it and I really expect forward to Sword Art Online 3 as well as the movie (that is, if they have officially been announced rather than rumored)when they come up out.

Sword Art Online II

Alert: Spoilers

It is time for another serial of Sword Fine art Online and once once again is consists of two main stories. In the showtime one-half of the series Kirito is approached to enter a game called 'Gun Gale Online' to notice and place a character calling himself 'Death Gun'. When he kills another histrion that person dies in real life; something that is theoretically incommunicable. One time in the game Kirito befriends a girl chosen Sinon who initially mistakes him for a girl. She is a sniper in the game despite being traumatised by an incident involving a gun in the real globe. As the story progresses they observe themselves confronting 'Death Gun' and learn how he is able to really kill people… something that volition put Sinon in real danger.

In the second half of the series Sinon joins Kirito and his friends in Alfheim Online. They are no longer the main protagonists though; Asuna takes a more than central role as she learns new skills and befriends a girl chosen Yuuki. Information technology looks like their friendship may end every bit Asuna's mother believes she is spending far too much fourth dimension on line and is threatening to cease her playing any more, believing her online friendships aren't existent. Equally it turns out Asuna and Yuuki'due south friendship is threatened by something far more serious; on line Yuuki may be the best swordswoman in the game but in real life she is seriously sick.

Having enjoyed the first series I wasn't sure I wanted more than in case information technology wasn't every bit good. Thankfully this series was enjoyably too although, at least for the first story, is quite different. The Gun Gale world is much darker in tone and appearance than the original worlds and the use of guns is quite different… even if Kirito continues to use a sword like weapon. I actually enjoyed this story. The 2d arc didn't grip me as quickly; at that place seemed no real danger as the group took on new bosses and gained skills; then, with the introduction of Yuuki, things get more emotional leading to a tear-jerking conclusion. Overall I'd say if yous enjoyed the beginning series you lot should bask this too.

Exciting from the start, but kinda lost the magic by time

Alert: Spoilers

I really enjoyed this anime. I binge watched both seasons in 2 days. To start off with the kickoff season, that was the ane i enjoyed the nearly. I looked frontwards to the next episode every time. The concept was exciting and had lovable characters. On the downside, i thought the time jumps were a bit likewise much. I similar that information technology was fast paced, simply to jump many months between and in episodes was a bit besides much according to me. You hardly got to see how they settled in to the life mode of being in a video game. It was just like BAM, everyone is a pro at this and we didn't become to see them grow into that. It's as well a bit pitiful that Asuna started off as a mysterious badass and turned into a weak girly girl.

Onto the 2nd season. I enjoyed information technology, just i never got the same thrill equally i did with the get-go season. I'yard however torn how i experience about the whole fairy theme. Did i accept it or was information technology too unlike from the get-go part? I'm not sure. The villain was too over the top stereotypical. I cringed every fourth dimension he laughed. Besides, the main excitement with the offset season was the seriousness of life and death. If you lot die, that's it. Past taking that part away for the 2d office, it lost a huge thrill. I felt a scrap like, okay, you die, and then just try again and once more until you succeed. You don't really have anything to worry most. And don't even go me started on the sister. I didn't like the whole incest thing. They should've just got her and her male person friend together instead. Fabricated a stereotypical, clumsy, awkward, young romance. That would've been much better.

Actually, i wish they would've made both seasons about the outset game. They could've made that go on forever. They could've shown every single level of the game. Come up with a bunch of absurd monsters and characters to kill off. Only overall, i really did savour this show. I'm excited for next season, but i'm not keeping my hopes upward as well loftier.

Honestly, not that bad

This is an okay anime series. Why do people hate it so much?

It is because of the supposed "sexism"? (Lol, as if the otaku oversupply has ever cared that much about sexism) or because the main character supposedly is a "Mary Sue/Gary Stu/Marty Stu/Whatever"? A lot of protagonists in shonen anime are bigger Mary Sues yet people dearest them. Just ask Akira Toriyama.

Wow, just astonishing.

This anime is Amazing. Scout information technology at present. I can't even explain this... Sword Fine art Online is ridiculously well made, so far. A lot of anime have a skillful start but end horribly just this anime has an incredible start and merely time will tell of the end. However, I believe that this anime will finish very well. I don't want to reveal much well-nigh the show but the principal graphic symbol Kirito is awesome... Merely go watch this evidence. At present. You wont regret it trust me. I don't know if I'll be able to survive waiting a calendar week for each episode. All I have been doing then far is praising the show merely I'1000 expressionless serious the characters are awesome, plot is awesome, the idea of the prove is very interesting equally well. I HIGHLY recommend this show and I know this isn't the virtually detailed and persuading mail (I don't wanna spoil anything), at least I don't recollect it is but this is a very skilful bear witness. You will become hooked from episode 1, I hope. My blood brother and I aren't crazy anime fans, nosotros probably are now considering of this show but he saw someone mail service on a website that an amazing new show is going on air and well, he was right.

How does this get such a good reputation

I finished the showtime ii seasons now and I'thou really wondering how this show got its skillful reputation in the anime scene. I mean the showtime half dozen or and so episodes were entertaining and I was curious how it all plays out simply as soon equally they leave the soa game the evidence just got stuck into a boring love story and doesn't really seem to become out of it at all. The fights are mediocre and the characters are very linear and apartment written. The globe building doesn't actually exist after the first few episodes and the story overall only isn't really exciting I feel like. I probably won't scout the next seasons since my expectations aren't actually that high.

Amazing

Alert: Spoilers

Based on the general public they have rated it equally 7.vii out of 10 which is a reasonable number merely if I was proper critic I would reconsider to alter the number based on my stance which I have rated as a 10, i have gave it this rating because it has to be the greatest anime I have watched in my 16 twelvemonth being The characters to the story, the temper is so good it's seems real at sometimes and at the end of season ii it had me wondering why stop there but anyway the story is almost a 16 yr old kid called kazuto kiragaya but as well known for his online persona kirito And there has been a new game released to the public in 2022 and information technology's called sword art online which is also the main title and it's a vrmmorpg and it's for a device called the nervegear which was designed and produced by akihiko kayaba and he is besides the creator of sword art online as well and everyone was trapped in the game for over two year and in those two years kirito met a daughter chosen asuna and sooner or later they became married in the game and also had a little cottage on flooring 22 past a lake and they was wondering around the forest and that's when they met there adopted girl called yui they establish her there passed out and took her dwelling house as soon as she woke up she couldn't remember annihilation only it's turns out she was just a bogus intelligence programme which made the story motion thrilling as it is but eventually they had to return to the front end lines and clear the game and it's turns out commander heathcliff is really akihiko kayaba and he is the boss on floor 100 in the ruby palace and then kirito took him down but in the last second asuna saved kirito merely at the cost of her ain life only for anybody doesn't know she is alive And kayaba is non the true boss on floor 100 the boss is called Incarnation of the Radius but that'south for an other time simply basically if you have not watched information technology still give it a shot and spotter it you can spotter it in English language or japanese your choice just I reviewed this in English cause I don't understand japanese to good and I know people are going to avert watching it because kirito is voiced Bryce papenbrook merely I don't understand why people detest him he is a pretty good vox actor he plays rin in blue Exorcist but anyway go sentinel it and the only reason kirito and asuna didn't for is because because the organisation, Cardinal, was designed that manner. That'southward why they have the resurrection item like Disgaea mentioned. At that place is a delay before the player is killed in the real earth, following his avatar's decease. ... Now, the same can be said nearly Kirito killing Kayaba.

Flavor ii A year after escaping Sword Art Online, Kazuto Kirigaya has been settling back into the real earth. Withal, his peace is short-lived as a new incident occurs in a game chosen Gun Gale Online, where a thespian by the name of Death Gun appears to be killing people in the real world by shooting them in-game. Approached by officials to assistance in investigating the murders, Kazuto assumes his persona of Kirito again and logs into Gun Gale Online, intent on stopping the killer. Overall this flavour is more than thrilling compared to flavour one, The 2nd season begins with a new virtual reality MMORPG called Gun Gale Online. Rumors are circulating most a person named Death Gun who tin fire a bullet in the game that will also kill people in real life. Kirito, the protagonist of the last season, starts working with the Ministry of Internal Affairs to investigate whether such a thing is possible. This arc starts off as a mystery, but it suffers from pacing problems that make it hard to go along an invested interest. The deuteragonist, Sinon, is an avid Gun Gale Online player. She's a well-known sniper in the game, and she even plans on competing in a competition with the silliest proper name imaginable (Bullet of Bullets). Kirito and Sinon end up working together every bit Sinon helps Kirito notice Death Gun, and Kirito helps Sinon through her fears.

When Sinon was a young daughter, a man barged into the post office and aimed a gun at her mother. Sinon managed to take the gun from him and shot him. Because of this effect, Sinon is terrified of guns and is playing Gun Gale Online as immersion therapy to conquer her fears. Sinon'due south stress triggers whenever she comes into close contact with guns or realistic replicas. At get-go, this seems similar a well done representation of a trigger - Sinon panics when she tries to hold the gun replica she keeps in her desk at habitation. Her breathing becomes labored and she tin can only remember how terrified she felt the time she held a gun and killed someone. It's surprisingly dark for Sword Art Online, and the show would accept pulled it off had information technology non washed information technology in such an overdramatic manner. The over the top, highly saturated ruddy in the background and an unreasonable amount of blood flowing across the flooring distract from the terror Sinon feels.
